Barcelona Girona Airport is about 95 Km from Barcelona and about 5 Km from Girona itself.

The trip to or from Barcelona takes about an hour and a quarter, if you take the Barcelona Bus and there are no delays on the motorway.
If travelling by train to Girona and then taking a bus or taxi, allow plenty more time.

Ryanair
Until recently, all Ryanair flights to “Barcelona” used the airport at Cassà de la Selva, near Girona (or Gerona in Spanish). The low-cost company began operating some flights from Barcelona el Prat Airport but continues to use Girona for most destinations. This is expected to change in future.

The Airport is quite small and is often very busy, especially during holidays and in summer, so queues can be long.
