Sant Sebastià Beach
About a kilometre long, Sant Sebastià is one of Barcelona’s traditional beaches. Home to the old swimming and water sports clubs, it’s a great favourite for local residents, many of whom come very regularly to spend the day among friends. More recently,Sant Sebastià has become very popular among visitors, perhaps because it is so easily accessible by bus and metro. There are disabled parking spaces and plenty of racks for locking up bicycles.
The beach stretches from the new sail shaped W Hotel, –with its Custo designed beach bar– past the somewhat ugly buildings of the Swimming Clubs and the Plaça del Mar to the beginning of the Passeig Marítim.

Nova Icària
Just under half a kilometre long, from the Port Olímpic to the Bogatell breakwater, Nova Icària Beach is very popular with visitors. Quieter than the beaches closer to the centre of town, many families come to spend the day.
Nova Icària is well equipped for sports activities and has a bathing area and service for disabled people. Wooden walkways make access to the shore possible for people in wheelchairs and bathing assistance is available for those needing it. A lift and amphibious chair with attendants are provided.
There is no shortage of places to eat nearby, the Chiringuito de Moncho located behind the beach is especially popular and in the Port Olímpic, La Fonda del Port Olímpic has good food at reasonable rates. Some of the restaurants have great views overlooking the sea and fresh air, something that’s sometimes lacking in the hurly-burly of the Port Olímpic.
